Maxwell's debut album, "Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite," was released in 1996 and distributed through Columbia Records. It went on to win the 1997 Soul Train Music Award for Album of the Year. The album puts Maxwell in the forefront of neo soul while also continuing his collaboration with hip-hop. Songs like “Til The Cops Come Knockin'” and “Sumthin' Sumthin'" both offer a fusion of soulful singing, jazzy saxophone playing, mellow guitar riffs, and crisp drum beats. The album also includes his first collaboration with rappers, “Jus' A Rapper.” R&B singer Angie Stone & hip-hop artist Queen Latifah lend their voices to "Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite." Other artists featured on the album include Bilal, Jill Scott, Pharoahe Monch and Common. The producers are Jazzy Jeff, Damian Marley, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Guy Babylon, Natural Magic & Rich Harrison. http://matrixworldscape. wordpress.com/2008/07/18/maxwell-benefits-the-education-trusts-adventures http://www.discogs.com/release/1309536 http://www.allmusic.com/artist/maxwell-lightfoot-mn0000925001 https://websteruniversity. files.wordpress.com/2012/06/maxwell-trusts-sheetmusic00.pdf http://www.ubu.com/newsDetails/maxwell-returns-to-studio http://www.youtube. com/watch?v=Q3se5Fw96dE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIlB9ZLh9ck https://websteruniversity.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/maxwell-trusts-sheetmusic00.pdf https://websteruniversity.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/maxwell-trusts-sheetmusic00.pdf http://businessonmainstreetblog .com/?p=7957 http://websterschoolspartnership .com/?p=1049#more-1049 http://booksandreadingblogs . cfa1e77820
